CE China 2019 Preview Edition

The right place at the right time

IFA’s CE China trade fair is set to be held from 19 to 21 September 2019 in Guangzhou.

Following several editions in Shenzhen in the second quarter of the year, this will be a first, as the shows takes place in this lively mega-city where East meets West. Guangzhou has a long history as a trading hub and gateway to China. The city not only provides super-modern exhibition grounds, it is also home to thousands of Consumer and Home Electronics manufacturers and can be reached conveniently by directs flight from Europe and the US.

CE China is the consumer and home electronics show for the Chinese and pan-Asian market, linking premium brands, important market players and retailers. The show is a vibrant platform uniting international exhibitors with Asian retailers keen to bring new products to their customers. For the first time, the global communication giant Huawei will be present at the show, underlining the growing interest by major brands for the event.

The event is organised by IFA, the world’s most significant trade show for consumer and home electronics for the digital world. IFA 2019 took place 6 to 11 September at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. “With CE China’s move to the Guangzhou Poly World Trade Center Expo and the postponing of the date to September, we are following the numerous demands of the industry and trade partners to benefit even more from the economically important Single’s Day”, said Jens Heithecker, Chairman of CE China, IFA Executive Director and Executive Vice President Messe Berlin.

For the first time, CE China presents the Guangzhou VR/AR Industry Innovation Summit at its show. In cooperation with the Guangzhou Science and Technology Exchange Institute and the Guangzhou VR/AR Technological Innovation Alliance, the summit will be held on 20 September at CE China 2019 discussing the latest market trends of the industry. Being one of the exciting evolutions, CE China picks up on the developments in the virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies. Visitors have the opportunity to get in touch with the ground breaking innovations in a dedicated VR and AR experience area at the show.

Autonomous driving and new mobility will make their appearance for the first time this year at CE China.  Today, intelligent interconnection is not only a major trend in household appliances and electronic consumer goods, but also key to the automotive industry – bringing consumer electronics, household appliances and mobility closer together. This new section at CE China caters to this larger trend in the industry – following the successful SHIFT Automotive concept at IFA Berlin.

Another one of the highlights will be the IFA Retail University, creating added value for international brands and 500+ Asian retail representatives; among them the Chinese retail giant Suning. International exhibitors at both IFA and CE China have the opportunity to present their products and strategies in 20-minute-Power-Briefings to retail partners, thereby increasing brand awareness and sales in East Asia. Chinese retail giant Suning, a strategic partner of CE China, co-initiated this format.

In addition to Suning, China’s largest online retailer Tmall/Alibaba and is among CE China’s official partners in 2019.
